(CBS Las Vegas) – Jeremy Renner is trying to clear the air after making comments last week about the gender pay equality debate that began with Jennifer Lawrence’s essay.
Lawrence wrote an essay in Lenny Letter regarding how she wasn’t paid as much as her male co-stars and how she gave up negotiating, but never felt she should have had to.
Renner said last week when it comes to fighting for equal pay with his female co-stars, “That’s not my job. I don’t know contracts and money and all that sort of stuff.”
Although the remarks made by Renner made him look uninterested, the actor took to social media to clarify how he feels regarding the topic.

Co-star Bradely Cooper, who worked with both Renner and Lawrence on “American Hustle,” made comments on wage inequality as well.
“There’s a double standard in the whole world, yeah, for sure. This is just one aspect. So anytime there’s a place where a voice can come out and be outspoken, that’s great. I love strong women. I think it is making a difference,” Cooper said, according to Entertainment Weekly,
