The 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup is set to kickoff on Saturday with the USA’s first match getting underway on Monday. Here are the four players your eyes should be on as the US takes aim at its third World Cup championship.

Sydney Leroux

Leroux will likely have multiple chances up front with Morgan and Abby Wambach and will have a huge impact as part of the tournament’s best attacking side. Her biggest asset is her speed. She has a gear that is beyond anyone else’s on the field at all times and often runs down balls that she appears to have no chance to get to. If she can finish a majority of her good chances, she has a great chance to be the name we all remember when this thing is all said and done.

Tobin Heath

Heath may not start every game in this tournament, but you can be sure that she will come on and make an impact in a majority of the games. Her footwork will absolutely wow you from time to time as she seems to have the ball on a string at her foot and makes defenders look silly. If there’s a spectacular goal, Heath probably will have a part in setting it up.

Alex Morgan

The USWNT’s darling, Morgan has become the face of the team. It probably has a lot to do with the face that she’s incredibly good looking, but what might be overlooked is that she’s the best player on the team. She’s fast, she has excellent instincts in and around the box, and she finishes at an exceptional rate. Morgan’s knee is a problem and may even keep her out of the group stage, but she should be back by the time the US needs her in the quarterfinals and beyond.

Christie Rampone

This World Cup will be Rampone’s fifth. FIFTH! She has racked up a ridiculous 306 caps and is the lone player who has hoisted the cup on the roster. Rampone is going to turn 40 during the tournament yet she’s still faster than most opposing teams’ attackers. What a cap to a career it would be if she can help lead this team to a World Cup 16 years after they lifted the last one.
