Las Vegas, NV – It’ll surely be the richest event in boxing history when Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao square off in the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday. But not everything associated with the megafight will require you to dig deep into your wallet.
Despite a starting price of $1,500 each, the 500 tickets that were made available to the public last week disappeared within two minutes. Tens of thousands of closed circuit viewing seats, offered for $150 each, were also devoured in record time. Friday’s weigh-in tickets, a relative bargain at $10 apiece (despite being free for every other bout) are expected to be gone as well.
If you don’t have thousands, or even hundreds of dollars to commit to boxing’s historic event, there are still a couple of events open and offered to the public free of charge during Fight Week.
The Fighter Arrivals, usually held in the MGM Grand Lobby, has been moved to the Grand Garden Arena on Tuesday. Doors open at 12:30.
On Wednesday, Undercard Fighter Workouts, featuring Leo Santa Cruz, will start at 3:00 in the lobby of the Grand Garden Arena.
Plan on arriving early as both events, which are free and open to the public, expect to draw huge crowds of both casual and diehard boxing fans doing what they can to be part of what’s being hailed as The Fight Of The Century.
