The biggest fight of the year in boxing is less than two weeks away. Floyd Mayweather Jr. will square off with Manny Pacquiao May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The two fighters are considered two of the best in their generation, and boxing fans and experts are excited to see this fight take place. With the fight on its way, CBS Local Sports spoke to multiple boxing experts as part of the Fan Essentials series to get the experts thoughts on what it would take for each fighter to come away with a victory.

The experts all agree that the key for Pacquiao to pull out a victory is pushing the pace of the fight. “We know Mayweather is a bit of a slow starter. He’s had some problems in some of his fights in the first couple of rounds” said Steve Farhood, Showtime boxing analyst. “That’s a tremendous opportunity for Manny to start fast.” As for Mayweather, the message from the experts seems simple: “Be Floyd Mayweather”.
