(Las Vegas, NV) — A storm system has brought much-needed rain to the Vegas Valley, along with a number of problems. Several streets became rivers yesterday afternoon, while lightning strikes caused several fires, including a two-alarm blaze at a building on Desert Inn Road. One person was treated for smoke inhalation,
and the fire caused at least $50,000 in damage. NV Energy says about 1000 customers had no power, while some flights were delayed at McCarran Airport. More rain and cooler temperatures are expected today and tomorrow.
