LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials say a securities firm capped a conference in Las Vegas with a $25,000 donation to a local pediatric hospital.
University Medical Center spokeswoman Danita Cohen says Children’s Hospital of Nevada accepted the gift from Raymond James Financial Services at the close of the firm’s professional development conference on Thursday.
Company chief executive Greg Williams says in a statement that the money was from a fundraising event prior to the conference.
Hospital chief executive Kathy Silver says the money will help pediatric trauma and intensive care services at the state’s only public hospital.
UMC also has the state’s top-level trauma and burn centers, and a University of Nevada School of Medicine clinical campus.
