Spring and summer in Las Vegas promise excellent professional and amateur theater productions. You can choose to step outside the theater to enjoy outdoor performances or go the more traditional route and take your place in your reserved spot to cheer on the performers. In Vegas, anything is possible, even getting splattered in a unique performance of “The Evil Dead” or thrilling to a re-telling of “The 39 Steps.” Then again, there is always “Monty Python”….

This fast-paced, dramatic adult show features community theater at its finest, with some of the best amateurs and professionals to be found in Las Vegas. The story-line features the misadventures of a man in London who tries to help a counter-espionage agent thwart an organization of spies (The 39 Steps). He is subsequently accused of the agent’s murder, forcing him to flee with the attractive woman to whom he is handcuffed, in order save himself and stop the spy ring.

The V Theater will host the production of “Evil Dead – The Musical 4D.” This is late-night adult theater at its finest. Any Sam Rami fan will recognize that this production is based upon the “Evil Dead” movie, which follows five vacationing college kids who get trapped in a cabin in the woods, unleashing evil and trying (unsuccessfully) to overcome the powers of darkness. Now seen as a cliché, this production still grabs you as the students try to survive until dawn, battling zombies while singing campy, farcical songs. What makes this show so unique, aside from the singing and dancing zombies, is the unique “Splatter Zone” where you are so close to the action that you will be “showered with the blood of the undead.” This makes it a “must-see” for fans. More reluctant spectators don’t have to fear, however, since the production is all in good fun. Who knows – you may even find yourself singing along with the zombies. Shows continue until May 31, 2014.
