Starting each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the Polar Express pulls out of the East Ely Railway Depot to embark on a real-life adventure celebrating the magic of Christmas. Hundreds of Nevada families flock to the depot – located just a few hours from Las Vegas – each year during the holiday season. The journey to “The North Pole” is filled with anticipation as children in pajamas and robes are read the story of “The Polar Express” while hot chocolate and cookies are served.
