Starting each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the Polar Express pulls out of the East Ely Railway Depot to embark on a real-life adventure celebrating the magic of Christmas. Hundreds of Nevada families flock to the depot – located just a few hours from Las Vegas – each year during the holiday season. The journey to “The North Pole” is filled with anticipation as children in pajamas and robes are read the story of “The Polar Express” while hot chocolate and cookies are served. Santa takes time out of his busy schedule to visit, and all guests receive a silver bell, just like the children in the story. On the way back from the North Pole, everyone joins in the singing of Christmas carols. This truly is a magical, memorable experience for believers in Christmas of all ages.

If you are more into enjoying the sounds of the season than creating them yourselves by caroling, Town Square is your headquarters for atmosphere during the holidays.
