Outdoor entertainment means awesome variety in Las Vegas. We have the Henderson Pavilion, one of the most unique outdoor amphitheatres with seats and a hill in back where you can spread a blanket and watch the theater under the stars. West Wind Drive-In has all the charm of drive-in theaters from bygone generations; take a trip to the snack bar during intermission and introduce your children to the charm of the outdoor screen. If you want a bit of a drive, you can visit Spring Mountain Ranch and enjoy its Super Summer Theater with different performing arts, or you may prefer to take a little side-trip to The Distrct @ Green Valley Ranch, where you and the kids can pack up a picnic basket and a blanket and watch movies under the stars on the Green.

The Henderson Pavilion has been the scene of performances for many talented artists with all sorts of different styles. From country to classic, and from children’s shows to adult entertainment and festivals, it’s hard to beat the Pavilion for variety. This is the first and largest outdoor amphitheatre in Nevada. The stage can hold solosits to full Broadway productions, and the grounds are large enough for any major event. Sit on the seats under the canopy or enjoy the performance from the green hill out back. Check the calendar to see what’s making its way to the stage this summer.

Spring Mountain Ranch is more than just theater: it’s a destination with different points of interest. There’s the ranch house and ranch area with its fascinating historic points of interest and natural vistas, and, from June through August, you will find a variety of theater experiences at the Super Summer Theater. You can make a day of it and end the magic with the shows from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in person at UNLV Performing Arts Box Office or at Prestige Travel’s Summerlin location at 7550 Lake Mead Blvd.

Here is an old-fashioned drive-in theater with all the amenities. There’s a wonderful variety of movies to be enjoyed from the comfort of your car (or from camp chairs, as witnessed in past). There’s the snack bar with its variety of goodies and then there is the magic of movies under the stars. Bring back this retro experience for the whole family by taking in a flick or two at the only drive-in left in Las Vegas.

There’s something comfortable and right about viewing movies under the stars. At the Green, every Friday and Saturday evening during the summer, you will find a variety of popular family movies available for viewinig. You can either purchase snacks there or pack up the blanket and picnic basket and head out for an evening of family fun with other families. Even the family dog has been found enjoying the atmosphere, as the District is pet-friendlly. Take a walk on the cobblestones of the shopping area, purchase a few treats and then settle down for a pleasant evening at the big screen. It’s an experience not to be missed.
