In the mind of NFL fans, Thursday night is just a precursor to weekend games. But that doesn’t mean you have to stay home. Thursday night NFL Football gives you the opportunity to get out, socialize and check out a bar you haven’t yet been to. Here is a great lineup of local spots – some offering Thursday night football specials and others just an impressive list of distractions.

Sierra Gold near the 2-15 and Jones has done some remodeling, just in time for football season. The already spacious gaming bar has added 23 new flat-screen TVs along with one giant 90-inch TV that can show up to four games at once. Sierra Gold also has a VIP lounge with an 80-inch TV that can be reserved. Beginning on September 7, Sierra Gold will have drink and food specials starting at $3 during football games.

Timbers Bar & Grill is a chain of bars with a focus on NFL football. Each location in the valley is dedicated to a particular NFL team. For the 2014 football season, Timbers will be giving out $5-off food coupons to everyone at the bar for kickoff on both Monday and Thursday night. FireSide’s claim to fame is the large rotating list of draft and craft beers. Happy hour is weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m., and includes $1 off all Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors Light, house wine, well and call liquor cocktails.
