When it comes to nightclubs, Las Vegas has an impressive international reputation to uphold. Several are fighting for the “most exclusive” rep, with high dress code standards and frequent VIP celebrity guests. Here are three of the most exclusive nightclubs in Las Vegas. – Diane Quinn

Tao Nightclub

The Venetian Hotel
3355 Las Vegas Boulevard South
Las Vegas, NV 89109
(702) 388-8588

Tao makes the list as one of the most exclusive nightclubs in Las Vegas for two reasons. For starters, it’s hard to beat the eye-popping greeting when entering. Two scantily clad women bathe in a huge golden tub filled with water and flowers. Then there’s the fact that it’s the only nightclub in town that has had Madonna and Paris Hilton celebrating on the same night! If you like sophisticated Oriental design with a touch of New York City, then Tao is your kind of club. DJs maintain a high-energy atmosphere, spinning hip-hop and rock mash-ups. Catch your breath on the outside terrace with spectacular views of the Strip. Expect a long wait without a VIP pass. A strictly enforced dress code caters to an upscale crowd. Nightclub hours: Thursday through Saturday, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

XS The Nightclub

Encore Las Vegas
3131 Las Vegas Boulevard South
Las Vegas, NV 89109
(702) 770-0097
www.xslasvegas.com

XS tops the list as one of the most exclusive nightclubs in Las Vegas for a reason. At 40,000 square feet and with an investment of more than $100 million, XS delivers on the promise of its “extreme” name. Featuring a huge pool with a center island and ultra glam outdoor areas spread over two floors, XS is seductive eye candy for clubbers looking for a little decadence and who don’t care what it costs. Most of the dance action spins around Top 40 music with occasional house music played late night. Because XS is so much larger than most other nightclubs, sometimes you won’t need to wait in a long line even if you don’t have VIP passes. Dress code is casual chic, and it’s strictly enforced. Open Friday through Monday, 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Tryst Nightclub

Wynn Las Vegas
3131 Las Vegas Boulevard South
Las Vegas, NV 89109
(702) 770-3375
www.trystlasvegas.com

Like at its sister club XS, some of the most beautiful people found in Tryst are the sexy, gorgeous staff. It is smaller at 12,000 square feet, but clubbers flock to the open air dance floor extending into a 50-foot waterfall and lagoon. It is dark and elegant inside Tryst with velvet walls and draperies, and many booths are made from alligator skin and some of the tables are marble. Look for exclusive seating beds and a private Champagne Room with a stripper pole. Some of the top DJs in Las Vegas spin Top 40, hip-hop, mash-ups and house music. Unless you are on the VIP Service list, the wait to get in is usually long. Look sharp because a strict dress code is enforced. Open Thursday through Saturday, 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
