A Utah tribal leader was ousted from office Thursday for accepting gifts from the Washington Redskins, which council members say wrongly linked their tribe to the NFL team’s divisive name.
Two NFC East teams going in different directions will face off on Saturday, but there is still a lot to prove. The Philadelphia Eagles need to make sure they earn a spot in the playoffs. The Washington Redskins have a quarterback controversy that is getting more confusing each week. Steve Beuerlein of CBS Sports spoke on the game and troubles facing both teams.
Rumors are flying that the San Francisco 49ers might trade Head Coach Jim Harbaugh to the Oakland Raiders, and that’s just the icing on the cake for this Bay Area rivalry. The 49ers need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, and the Silver & Black just need something to forget that beating they just took from the St. Louis Rams. The Sunday game at the Coliseum promises to be quite interesting.
It was again ugly, but another win nevertheless for the 49ers. The defense gets the game ball again as they are the reason San Francisco won their 3rd straight game.
When the 49ers and Redskins meet this Sunday injuries will keep some players off the field, but none that should have a major impact on the game. Of the two teams, San Francisco is in far better shape though as Washington could see 4 of their starters sit out.

From players to referees to fans, everyone is getting in on the Week 9 action…but maybe not in the way they imagined. Here’s 5 people who were in the right (or wrong) place at the right time…
Back in the calendar year of 1984, a whopping 30 years ago now, the then-Los Angeles Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks played two memorable AFC playoff games. The first in January 1984 saw the Raiders beat the Seahawks, and the second in December 1984 saw the tables turned as Seattle knocked out the defending Super Bowl champions.
The 0-7 Oakland Raiders travel to Seattle this weekend to take on the defending Super Bowl champions. And while the 4-3 Seahawks have already lost as many games as they did all of last year, they still are an opponent never to be taken lightly on their home field. Of course, the winless Silver & Black can’t take any team lightly these days as they look to snap a 13-game losing streak dating back to last season.
When asked about his contract, Dallas Cowboys head coach said he doesn’t want to talk about it because he is just interested in winning games right now.
