Firefighters Lose Ground To 2 Big Wildfires

Two mountain wildfires raged Tuesday in Nevada, where firefighters worked to gain the upper hand on a blaze near Las Vegas that kept hundreds of people from their homes and another southwest of Reno that jumped in size a day earlier.

With Fewer Firefighters, US Preparing For Another Bad Wildfire Year

Despite the slowest start to a wildfire season in a decade, the head of the U.S. Forest Service said Tuesday his agency is preparing for another busy year, but with fewer firefighters.
