NM Governor Signs Space Travel Liability Bill

Gov. Susana Martinez on Tuesday signed into law liability-waiving legislation aimed at saving the state’s nearly quarter-billion-dollar investment in a futuristic spaceport and retaining its anchor tenant, British billionaire Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic.

Virgin Agrees To Pay Spaceport Rent

Virgin Galactic says it will start paying New Mexico rent on the nearly quarter-billion dollar Spaceport the state built for Richard Branson’s space tourism business, but the company is doing so under protest and without waiving its right to walk away from the project.
