Oakland’s Anemic Running Game Is Historically Bad This Season

The 2014 Oakland Raiders not only have yet to win a game this season, but they are also on pace to post the worst team rushing yards total since the NFL switched to 16-game seasons in 1978. That’s right: The Silver & Black can’t run the ball, and it’s killing their rookie quarterback’s chances to succeed.

Team Grades: Raiders Can’t Sustain Strong Start Against Broncos

The Oakland Raiders are 0-9 this season, and the Silver & Black have now lost their last 15 games dating back to the 2013 season. Is there any win in sight? Not as long as the defense continues to stink…and the offense continues to struggle. No one is really doubting the effort of the 2014 Raiders, but the results just aren’t there.

How The Raiders Improve For 2015 Since This Season Is Lost Already

Regardless of whether the Oakland Raiders win a game this season or not, the year is lost. It’s time to look at next season’s roster, anticipating that a new general manager and a new permanent coach will be in charge of the Silver & Black for 2015 and beyond.

Raiders Offense Needs To Stay Wide Open Going Forward In 2014

In Week Six, the Oakland Raiders’ offense set season-high marks in total yards, passing yards and rushing yards. If this is Interim Head Coach Tony Sparano’s plan for staying competitive with a bad defense, it’s not necessarily a bad plan. Rookie quarterback Derek Carr had his best game of the year against San Diego, and the sky is the limit for the youngster going forward this 2014 season.

Team Grades: Raiders Can’t Hold On In Fourth Quarter Vs. Chargers

The 2014 Oakland Raiders cam every close to getting their first win of the season on Sunday. In fact, they held the lead in the second half for the first time all season. But in the end, the San Diego Chargers’ offense was too much for the Silver & Black’s defense, and the Chargers escaped with a 31-28 victory over the Raiders.

Studs & Duds: Raiders’ Bright Spots Hard To Find In 0-4 Start To Season

The Oakland Raiders have plenty of duds to explore so far in the young 2014 season, but it’s tough to find some studs in the debacle that has contributed to an 0-4 start to the year. The Silver & Black just don’t have much to highlight right now, which means it’s going to be a long season.

Raiders Fire Allen, Name Sparano Interim Head Coach But Nothing Will Change

The Oakland Raiders fired Head Coach Dennis Allen after an 0-4 start, and they have named former Miami Dolphins head coach and current Oakland offensive line coach Tony Sparano as the interim leader. However, this won’t change anything for the Silver & Black, as they still have an old and talent-bereft roster. What matters now is the plan for a permanent coach in 2015.

What Can The Raiders Do Now In Order To Win In Week 6?

The Oakland Raiders have a bye week to lick their wounds from the 38-14 loss to the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium in London last weekend. If the Silver & Black wants to win in Week Six against the San Diego Chargers at the Coliseum, they need to fix many things in the next two weeks.

Injury Report: Raiders Linebackers Hurting For London Match Against Dolphins

The Oakland Raiders defense needs all the help it can get every game, so when three linebackers could possibly miss the next contest, it’s something to be concerned about for the team. Heading into Sunday’s Wembley Stadium matchup against the Miami Dolphins, the Silver & Black also will be without backup quarterback Matt Schaub.

Week 3 Injury Report: Oakland Defense Hurting As Matchup With Patriots Looms Large

The Oakland Raiders defense isn’t very good even when healthy, but with multiple injuries to key players on the defensive side of the ball, the Silver & Black may be in for a long day on Sunday in New England.
