Moped Rider Killed in Early-Morning Crash

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a man riding a moped was killed in a Las Vegas car crash.

Las Vegas police said witnesses say a Tao Tao moped entered an intersection on a red light and collided with a Toyota Corolla early Wednesday morning.

The moped overturned and threw the 48-year-old man. He died at the scene where East St. Louis Avenue meets South Boulder Highway.

The 58-year-old woman driving the Toyota suffered minor injuries.

The moped rider’s name wasn’t immediately released.

    What is surprising is that there are not more of these incidents daily. These unlicensed “bikes” with riders (many without helmets) dart in and out of traffic, do not obey signs and are a danger on the roads…
