LAS VEGAS STRIP MASS SHOOTING: Latest Updates; How You Can Help

LVMPD Stops Speeding Wookiee in Facebook Video

LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – With the much anticipated release of the Star Wars film Rogue One on Friday, Las Vegas Police took the opportunity to warn drivers to slow down and stay off their phones while driving — even Wookiees cruising the streets of Sin City in a landspeeder.

LVMPD released the Facebook video Wednesday, depicting what happens when Las Vegas police officer Larry Hadfield pulls over an unregistered speeder being piloted by a distracted Wookiee travelling too fast in a school zone.

As a loitering Darth Vader is shooed away from the scene, Hadfield issues the ticket, but still offers the exasperated Wookiee a “may the Force be with you” to close the encounter.

The department shot the entertaining video and thanked Walter & Laura Rapp, Howard Bieber, and Trish Ketchell for the use of their amazing homemade landspeeder.
