LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say they have arrested a smoke shop worker in the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy last week after the worker shot the teen as he and two other teens ran in to steal merchandise.
Lt. Dan McGrath said at a news conference Tuesday that police arrested 24-year-old Raad Sunna after reviewing surveillance tape taken inside the shop during the Friday shooting. McGrath says Sunna’s life was not in endangered by the unarmed teens. He says the boys ran in wearing masks while trying to grab merchandise but they never came near Sunna.
McGrath says Sunna fired multiple times, hitting 13-year-old Fabriccio Patti multiple times.
The two other teens, ages 14 and 15, were arrested. McGrath says they will likely face theft charges.
Their identities were not released.
