LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Drivers along the 215 Beltway should brace for major detours and possibly major traffic headaches this weekend as construction crews plan to close the roadway in both directions.
I-215 at the McCarran International Airport connector from Exit 10 to Warm Springs Road will shut down at 9 p.m. Friday and remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday while workers put in a flyover offramp positioned over the highway.
The ramp from the airport connector on to Sunset Road will also be closed during the same stretch, as will the connector ramp on to Beltway eastbound.
Because drivers who don’t exit 215 earlier will be funneled on to the airport connector, Clark County transportation officials warn motorists to expect possible delays getting into and out of McCarran as well as traveling anywhere around that area.
Drivers on eastbound 215 who aren’t going to the airport were alerted to get off the roadway at Jones, Decatur or Las Vegas boulevards. Meanwhile, westbound, non-airport traffic was told to exit at Eastern Avenue, Windmill Lane or Warm Springs Road.
Drivers who normally get on the 215 eastbound from Interstate 15 were advised to get off I-15 at either Blue Diamond Road or St. Rose Parkway.
