LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Police arrested the suspect they say squeezed through an apartment bathroom window and attempted to sexually assault a woman inside, investigators said.

Las Vegas police captured Phillip White after a short foot pursuit Saturday evening, a Las Vegas Metro Police statement reported.

White, 53, was identified as the suspect in a robbery and violent attack on a woman inside her apartment on the 600 block of North 10th Street just before 4 a.m. on Nov. 7.

Police said White, a registered sex offender, got into the apartment through the bathroom window and confronted the resident when she went to investigate a noise in the bathroom. The suspect tried to sexually assault the victim before taking cash and fleeing the scene.

White was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on attempted sexual assault, sexual assault battery, burglary and robbery charges.
