LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Las Vegas Police released the name of the suspect arrested in the killing of a man found shot to death in a parking lot just off the Las Vegas Strip late Friday, according to authorities.
Officers arrived to find a man shot several times near a van in the Caesars Palace employee parking lot near the intersection of Frank Sinatra Drive and Jay Sarno Way just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, a Las Vegas Metro Police statement reported.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released pending family notification.
Officers were pointed to the second floor of the parking garage, where they located a suspect in the shooting, Charles Smith of Las Vegas.
Investigators said Smith, 27, shot the victim in the van and determined the van was parked in the lot for at least a few hours before the shooting.
Smith was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of murder.
