LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – One man was killed and another faced murder charges in what investigators said was a love triangle that ended in gunfire at a Las Vegas home early Saturday, authorities said.
Police responding to reports of gunshots arrived at the home on the 1300 block of Sun Point Drive to find a man suffering from multiple wounds, a Las Vegas Metro Police statement reported.
As officers were trying to aid the victim, suspect Steven Lewis returned to the scene and was detained.
The victim was taken to University Medical Center, where he died a short time later. The victim’s name was not immediately released pending family notification.
LVMPD Homicide investigators determined Lewis, 33, and the victim were both dating the same woman, prompting Lewis to confront the couple at a local restaurant. Following that confrontation, Lewis later came to the Sun Point Drive home, which led to a physical fight between the two men. Lewis shot the victim and fled, detectives said.
Lewis was arrested and booking into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of murder.
