LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say a county jail inmate has died following a fight with a cellmate.

Authorities say a corrections officer at Clark County Detention Center was conducting a routine inspection Saturday afternoon and found an inmate in his cell bleeding from his head.

Medical staff was called and the inmate was rushed to a hospital with multiple injuries.

He was pronounced dead.

Police investigators say evidence at the scene indicates the victim got into a physical altercation with 33-year-old Franklin Sharp, who is facing charges of attempted grand larceny and attempted burglary.

Sharp has now been re-booked for one count of murder.

Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased inmate.

Guess that’s one episode we won’t be seeing on the tv show about the Las Vegas jail system.
