LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – A woman is behind bars and facing attempted murder charges after investigators said she stabbed an elderly man in the head during a confrontation, according to authorities.
Las Vegas Metro Police officers responding to reports of a fight arrived in the area of Main Street and Foremaster Lane just before 7 a.m. Sunday, a LVMPD statement reported.
Officers found the victim in his 70s suffering from a stab wound to the left side of his head. The elderly man was taken to University Medical Center, where he was not expected to survive his injuries.
At the scene, officers identified and ultimately arrested Lakisha Hooks as the victim’s attacker. Investigators determined Hooks, 30, stabbed the man following a brief confrontation between the pair. It was not immediately known what sparked the fight.
