LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Police are investigating the death of a man found inside his Las Vegas home following an apparent robbery, according to authorities.
Police were called to the home on the 5300 block of Surrey Street just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday when another resident came home to find the victim dead and the residence ransacked, a Las Vegas Metro Police statement reported. The victim’s identity was not immediately released pending family notification.
Las Vegas Police homicide detectives determined the suspects fired several shots inside the home, hitting the victim at least once. The investigation found every room in the room was in disarray, although it was unclear what if any items were taken.
A 2016 Hyundai Veloster was taken from the scene. It was located by officers around 2:30 a.m. Sunday a few blocks away from the home.
No suspect or suspects were identified and the motive was not immediately known.
The killing was the 126th murder to be investigated by Las Vegas Metro Police homicide detectives in 2016.
