LAS VEGAS (AP) — Millions of dollars have gone toward Nevada elections from environmental groups supporting Democrats for office.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports NextGen Climate, the League of Conservation Voters and other groups spent more than $3 million so far on efforts including advertising and canvassers.
NextGen Climate president Tom Steyer says the group wants to get millennials talking to each other about environmental issues.
The group started in 2013 and is now on nine of the state’s college campuses and over 200 around the country.
Its polls of voters who are between 18 and 34 years old show clean energy is a priority.
Nevada is among three states that the Sierra Club has been focusing on as well.
