LAS VEGAS (AP) — Dennis Hof has higher name recognition than the average Nevada Assembly candidate after starring in an HBO reality series about a brothel he owns.
But his straight-laced Republican opponent James Oscarson is raising doubts about Hof’s suitability for office. The two-term incumbent asks whether the man who tweets nude photos to 20,000 Twitter followers is an appropriate ambassador to school-aged constituents.
He also said he doubts that Hof lives in the rural Nevada district he seeks to represent.
Hof filed campaign finance paperwork under a northern Nevada address that’s out of the district, but provided a driver’s license with an in-district address that also belongs to one of his brothels.
Hof says he has numerous houses and lives in them all. Oscarson isn’t planning on challenging Hof’s residency in court.
