NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — North Las Vegas police say the vehicle that a homicide suspect is accused of taking after escaping custody has been found.
Authorities said Saturday that the Ford F-150 pickup truck had been found but Alonso Perez remains on the loose.
According to police, the 25-year-old was in an interview room shortly after his Friday arrest.
They say he turned the handcuffs until he broke free while a detective was out of the room.
He then allegedly stole a car and fled.
Perez is suspected in the deadly Aug. 27 shooting of 31-year-old Mohammed Robinson.
Perez is described as Hispanic, 6-foot-3 and having a goatee. He also has an “Air Jordan” tattoo on his neck.
Police say he is considered armed and dangerous.
