LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – A man struck while crossing a busy street near the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino last week died from his injuries Wednesday, authorities said.

William Mullins was crossing Harmon Avenue near Paradise Road around 9:15 a.m. Aug. 18 when he was hit by a passing vehicle, according to a Las Vegas Metro Police statement.

Mullins, 51, was walking outside of a marked crosswalk area. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he died Wednesday.

The driver of the Ford Fusion that hit Mullins, 46-year-old Jose Gutierrez-Camorlinga of North Las Vegas, remained at the scene and was not injured. The collision, the 68th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas this year, remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
