LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Las Vegas police arrested the man they say stabbed and killed another man during an argument and fight in an east Las Vegas neighborhood Sunday, according to authorities.

Juan Rubio was arrested Tuesday in connection with the killing of Michael William Omalia on the 200 block of Sir Phillip Street around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, a Las Vegas Police statement reported.

Detectives believe Rubio, 42, and Omalia, 31, engaged in an argument that led to a fight that ended when Omalia was stabbed several times. A friend took Omalia to University Medical Center, where he died a short time later.

Rubio was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and faces a charge of first-degree murder in Omalia’s death.
