LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – A man was arrested in California in connection with the killing of two men shot outside an east Las Vegas valley smoke shop last year, according to authorities.
James Rachal was in custody in California on unrelated charges and now faces murder and conspiracy counts for the murders of Aaron Anderson and Alton Chucky Bullard Jr. at the Bargain Smokes shop on the 5500 block of Boulder Highway in September 2015.
Anderson, 25, and Bullard Jr., 32, were standing outside the store when they reportedly exchanged words with Rachal. Rachal allegedly returned moments later with a gun and opened fire. Anderson died at the scene, while Bullard was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Rachal was returned to Nevada and booked into the Clark County Detention Center Wednesday on two counts of murder and one count of conspiracy.
