LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas investigators are looking into the death of a woman whose body was found Monday near Lake Mead as a possible homicide, according to authorities.

National Park Service Rangers were called out to a desert area near the Special Events Beach at Boulder Basin in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area for reports of a woman’s body found around 8 a.m. Monday, a Las Vegas Metro Police statement reported.

Rangers located the body, which appeared to show obvious signs of trauma.

An investigation by LVMPD homicide investigators indicated the woman’s injuries were consistent with being a murder victim. The woman’s name and the manner of her death were not immediately known.
