The Lumineers’ rapid rise has been dizzying. In 2012, their hit song “Ho Hey” gave them a national spotlight. They grabbed two Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Americana Album with their eponymous debut. Since then, they’ve spent years on tour, performed on Saturday Night Live and were even featured on President Barack Obama’s Spotify playlist.

In April, their second album, Cleopatra, earned the band their first No. 1 spot on Billboard’s 200 chart, and the folk trio hit the road again. Lead vocalist and guitarist Wesley Schultz took a break from touring to talk about performing at Life Is Beautiful.
