LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified two of three women found dead in Las Vegas-area flood control channels in recent days, including one whose cause of death was ruled a drowning.
The Clark County coroner said Tuesday that 55-year-old Sharon Nomura’s drowning was accidental. Her body was found Friday morning in a wash about a block east of Las Vegas Boulevard.
Intense thunderstorms on Thursday sent torrents of water through flood channels, leading to several rescues by firefighters.
The coroner says a cause and manner of death is pending for 29-year-old Stephanie White. Her body was found Thursday near the Las Vegas National Golf Course. That’s several miles east of the Las Vegas Strip.
The identity of a woman whose body was found Sunday in a water detention basin west of the Strip wasn’t immediately made public.
