LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada’s Democratic voter base grew faster than the Republican voter base in June.
The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office reported Friday that Republicans added 6,800 new voters to their ranks last month, while Democrats added nearly 10,500.
Democrats now have a nearly 70,000-voter advantage over Republicans among the more than 1.3 million active registered voters in Nevada.
The number of voters in the state grew 2 percent last month. That was after the registration cutoff date for participating in the June 14 primary election.
Nevada is considered a battleground state in the presidential election because both parties are relatively close in registration.
