New Super PAC Foreshadows Big Spending in Nevada House Race

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The launch of a new super PAC supporting Republican Danny Tarkanian shows that the southern Nevada House seat held by Rep. Joe Heck won’t be cheap to win.

Organizers announced Thursday that they were launching Empower Nevada, a federally registered group that will be able to raise and spend unlimited amounts of money supporting the businessman’s congressional bid against Democratic synagogue leader Jacky Rosen.

Rosen and Tarkanian are running in the 3rd Congressional District, which is split nearly evenly between Democrats and Republicans. It’s one of just a few House seats nationwide that’s considered a true toss-up.

Super PAC official Brian Seitchik said it will help Tarkanian cross the finish line in a tough race. Nevada Democratic Party spokesman Stewart Boss said Tarkanian was groveling to dark money special interests.
