LAS VEGAS (AP) — PBS stations in Las Vegas and Reno say they’ll no longer produce a nightly public affairs show hosted by political journalist Jon Ralston.
Ralston and station executives issued a joint statement Tuesday announcing the Nevada-focused “Ralston Live” program was canceled immediately, after a run of more than a year.
PBS officials called the show informative and substantive, as well as provocative and controversial at times. They said they no longer have enough money to continue production.
Ralston said he was proud of his team’s accomplishments and is pursuing new opportunities to deliver news and commentary.
Ralston hosted a similar show for 14 years before starting at PBS. He currently contributes to the Reno Gazette-Journal and Politico Magazine, serves as a national TV commentator and maintains a blog on Nevada politics.
