LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 23-year-old California man who died during the weekend after running from police and jumping from a freeway overpass near the Las Vegas Strip.
The Clark County coroner said Tuesday it’ll take several weeks to complete blood toxicology tests and rule on a cause of death for Marco Antonio Hernandez Ramirez of San Bernardino.
Police say officers stopped Ramirez about 2 p.m. Sunday for jaywalking on Flamingo Road, and called for medical assistance after noticing his mental and physical condition.
Police say Ramirez ran to the edge of the overpass and plunged to southbound lanes of Interstate 15, where he was struck by two vehicles.
The occupants of the vehicles weren’t reported to have been injured.
