LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says there’s nothing wrong with a little deal-making to get things done.

Trump is continuing to draw contrasts with rival Ted Cruz by painting himself as the kind of candidate who will work with Congress and Democrats to improve the country’s standing.

The two are running a close race in early-voting Iowa. And Cruz is widely kept at a distance from other lawmakers in Congress, even by Republicans.

Trump about 1,500 people at a rally at a Las Vegas resort that Cruz is too strident to make deals. He says there’s a point at which it doesn’t hurt to be “a little establishment” in order to get things done.

Trump also spoke later Thursday at the Outdoor Sportsman Awards.
