GEORGE NOORY IN LAS VEGAS: Get tickets now -- be there June 9!

The news surrounding Lamar Odom continues to get better each today and he is now in the early stages of physical therapy. He has also been talking and texting and doctors say there is discernible improvement with his breathing and vision. Many athletes and celebrities have paid Odom a visit in his Las Vegas hospital including Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Reverend Jesse Jackson, and the Kardashians.

However, friend and former teammate, Metta World Peace says that some of those visitors have come at the expense of Odom’s own family seeing him and he specifically singled out the last group of visitors mentioned. Here is what World Peace told the LA Daily News about all of Odom’s visitors:

“This is nothing against Khloe. This is for the celebrities that are coming to see Lamar. They should know they’re taking time away from Lamar’s children…The only Kardashian that needs to be there is Khloe. Not every Kardashian needs to be around. They need to keep it simple, so Lamar’s children can see him whenever they want to see him. They’re waiting in line to see their own father.”

MWP and Odom go way, way back and World Peace knew him before any other NBA player or celebrity ever did. The two grew up together in Queens and played on the same AAU team (as did Elton Brand). They then spent two years together with the Lakers and have remained close over the years. World Peace has never been shy about speaking his mind and that last sentence of his quote is what speaks the loudest. I’m sure Odom, himself, is very appreciative of everyone that is visiting him but perhaps the celebrities should think about Odom’s family as well before paying him a visit.
