( Las Vegas, NV ) – After breaking high temps records over the weekend in Las Vegas, the National Weather Service office here says Monday will likely see the third day in a row of the afternoon warmth getting into the record books.
Saturday saw the mercury climb to 91 at the city’s official recording station at McCarran International Airport, breaking the previous record high for the date, 89 from March 28, 1986.
Sunday’s previous record high, 86 (from March 29, 1966) was also set aside when the high for the day reach 89.
The current record high for Monday in Las Vegas is 88, from March 30 of 2004. The current forecast high for the afternoon? 89.
Even though it’s supposed to reach the upper 80s again on Tuesday, the record high for March 31 in Las Vegas is 91 from 1966. Strong wind is forecast for the area Tuesday night, which is expected to bring daytime highs down to the lower 80s and maybe even the mid 70s by midweek.
