(Las Vegas)–Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Search and Rescue team is attempting to locate a stranded hiker at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
“The call came in around 11:00 a.m. and it was a call from Lake Mead Dispatch,” said Officer Jose Hernandez with Las Vegas Metro. “The call was advising us about a possible stranded hiker out in the Ice Box Canyon Trail.”
According to LVMPD, the hiker has been lost for the past two days in the Ice Box Canyon region.
LVMPD received the call about the hiker at around 11 a.m. Friday. It is believed at this time that the hiker was able to yell to other hikers that he or she needed help and they contacted the police.
