(Las Vegas, NV) — Findlay Sports and Entertainment and The Cordish Companies continue negotiations to bring a proposed 24,000 seat sports stadium to downtown’s Symphony Park.
Plans are to design the stadium for a Major League Soccer team. Findlay Sports and Entertainment spokesman Carey Duckworth stresses the facility will be a multi-purpose venue, available to host community events.
The Las Vegas City Council have given the partners until September 1 to create and submit a financing plan.
If a deal is reached, it could be presented before the full Council even after the September 1 deadline for a decision as to whether or not the project should move forward.
Findlay and Cordish would then have until December 1 to finalize a development plan.
Duckworth tells KXNT that Findlay and Cordish are still hopeful they will reach a deal.
