(Las Vegas, NV) — One of two hurricanes churning toward the Hawaiian Islands is expected to make landfall. Hurricane Iselle is leading Hurricane Julio, which is gaining strength in the Pacific Ocean. One of our colleagues here at CBS Radio took off for Hawaii last night. Spence from 98.5 KLUC talked The Las Vegas Morning News today.

Spence’s wife works in Maui, so this was a planned visit. He was supposed to fly out Friday but called Hawaiian Airlines and took an early flight. He made it there without any problem. S

pence’s wife says it was tough to find bottled water and batteries on Wednesday night at Wal-Mart. Spence says this will be the first hurricane they’ve ever experienced, but he’s not too worried, they’re prepared.
