( Las Vegas, NV ) More than an inch of rain hit parts of the Las Vegas valley Sunday night, with another round of rain moving into the area early Monday morning.
Regional Flood Control District rain gauges in the northwest recorded an inch and a quarter in an hour’s time near the 215 Beltway and Gowan as well as in the Summerlin area.
There have been no reports deaths or severe injuries, although there was an unconfirmed reports of a water rescue in North Las Vegas with a man reportedly hospitalized in unknown condition.
The Nevada Highway Patrol reports dozens of weather-related crashes on rain-slicked roads.
The National Weather Service issued numerous weather watches and warnings throughout the evening, overnight hours and for much of the Monday morning commute.
The Weather Service also reported the temperature dipped below 70 during the height of the storms Sunday night, noting that’s the first such reading since May of this year.
