(Las Vegas, KXNT)- One suspect has been shot and a second suspect has been taken into custody after a shooting, car chase and home invasion in the northeast part of the valley.

Police say it happened just before 10 am Sunday in the 4800 block of Cleopatra.  One man in an apartment complex was shot by the suspects and suffered non-life threatening injuries.  After getting called to the scene, police got word the suspects fled in a red mustang.  Patrol officers spotted the car a little while later. Suspects then led police on a car chase.  The rainy weather caused the driver to lose control.  The officers took advantage of the situation and performed a P.I.T.  maneuver, near Cox Elementary School near Timberlake and Excellence.  Both people inside took off running.  One officer followed the driver of the vehicle, who pulled a handgun out from his waistband.  The police officer shot the suspect.  He was taken to the hospital.

The other suspect jumped over neighborhood walls, ultimately making his way into a home and barricading himself inside.  The SWAT team helped take that suspect into custody.  Details of how he was apprehended were not released.

Police believe the first shooting involving the suspects and a victim at an apartment complex was gang-related.

More details of the incident will be released by Metro within 72 hours.
