(Las Vegas, NV) — A big $13.9 million project starts this week on Main Street in downtown Las Vegas. Lanes will be reduced to one in each direction, and major delays should be expected. The portions affected will be between Bonneville and just north of U.S 95.
The city’s Diana Paul says businesses along Main will be affected, but they have been working together to make it easier. The project will take about 2 years, so people will need to be patient. In fact, Paul says you may want to avoid the road completely.
This project will make Main Street more pedestrian and bicycle friendly. It’s expected to create 104 jobs. The full project won’t be complete until the end of 2015.
