Las Vegas Newspaper Battle Resolved
LAS VEGAS (KXNT/AP) — A battle over the family-owned Las Vegas Sun has been resolved after one brother took sole ownership and said the newspaper would continue publishing.
Brian Greenspun announced Tuesday that he took control of the newspaper and its parent company, Greenspun Media Group, in an agreement that splits family assets among four siblings.
The future of the Sun has been murky since last summer, when three Greenspun siblings moved to end a joint operating arrangement with the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s parent company Stephens Media. The joint operating agreement splits revenue between the publications, and the Sun is delivered as a section within the Review-Journal.
Brian Greenspun sued, saying ending the arrangement could kill the Sun.
Greenspun says he’s suspending discussions to end the agreement and will withdraw his suit.
