(Las Vegas/KXNT) — One girl is dead and another has life-threatening injuries following a crash that closed I-15 northbound closed just past D Street for several hours.

Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Loy Hixson says the driver of an SUV lost control of her vehicle just after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Three juveniles were ejected.

All seven passengers, 1 adult and 6 children, were taken to University Medical Center.  A 9-year-old girl died at UMC, another girl has life-threatening injuries.

Trooper Hixson says the driver and four of the children are in stable condition.

I-15 northbound reopened around 11:30 a.m.

NHP is still investigating what cause the accident, but believe another car–possibly a silver 4-door–may have cut the SUV off.

They are asking anyone with information to contact the Highway Patrol at (702) 486-4100.
