PLAIN CITY, Webster County (CBS Vegas)– It seems that no place is too sacred for a fist fight.

Following a fight over saved seats at a church, a man has been convicted of assault and has been ordered to serve 30 days in jail, KSL reports.

Wayne Dodge, 52, pleaded guilty to assault in May after physically assaulting another man who attended the Meadows Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in June 2013.

Dodge, a regular of the church, got into an argument with a visiting family that was reserving seats for more family members after he sat in one of the reserved seats.

After the sacrament meeting was over, the argument continued in the church’s parking lot and go more heated, eventually leading Dodge to punch one of the men in the family several times.

Things didn’t end there.

The accosted man went back inside the church to clean himself up and exited the church as Dodge was driving by.  The man was then hit by Dodge’s car.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

2nd District Judge Brent West has ordered Dodge to serve one year of probation, enroll in an anger management program, pay a $500 fine, and he is to have no contact with the victim.
